5 out of 5 eggsgreat but.....

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 220-T2-1600-X1 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: small form...quiet

Cons: main mobo wire too short - in cosmos case, mobo plug was at the top, this sits in the bottom of the case... i had to pull real hard inside the case - not even running the wire out the back... and it's still pushing on the heatsink very tightly to reach.... an extra 4 inches of wire wouldnt hurt at that price !!!! but still giving a 5

Other Thoughts: overall one of the better ones I've had over the years !!

Pros: To coin a phrase: I have the power!

No, seriously. Titanium rated with 1.6kW. What's not to love?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: EVGA Provides you with a lot of extra cables here to accommodate individual runs. The packaging is superb. Just everything about this ... well worth the money.

5 out of 5 eggsFor those that need POWER!

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 220-T2-1600-X1 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: Pros: If you need power this is the best you can get. It is the only high power power supply that has just left me with my mouth hanging open. I should never need anything bigger.

Very quiet.

Lots and lots of power.

No coil whine whatsoever.

Totally Modular.

Very professional
looking.

Built like a tank.

Titanium Rating.
Lots and lots of cables.

Cons: Cons: Price? Not really a con? I am more than willing to spend the money to have such a nice PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great and very quiet.

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 220-T2-1600-X1 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: I knew most Microwaves are 1100 watts and most electric heaters are 1500 watts (which I have 4 in the house) but I read on line about people that had to use a dedicated breaker for this power supply.
The power supply fit in my case (Corsair Obsidian 900D) with all screw holes lining up perfectly and installation was quick and easy.
I'm using this in a home that's over 50 years old and was worried it would keep tripping the breaker.
The TV, Blu-ray player and cable box are in the adjoining room on the same breaker and I'm happy to say that I've had no problems running my computer (using this power supply) with all peripheral's and the TV in the other room at the same time with no problems at all!

Cons: Can't think of any cons.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this product

5 out of 5 eggsNow you're playing with Power!

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 220-T2-1600-X1 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: Got this PSU to replace my still great Corsair HX1000W. I'm building a friend a comp which has turned to upgrading my existing beast. I didn't want to get him a sub par PSU so figured I'd give me my great HX1000w and claim this baby for myself.
It's much quieter than I expected and for now I am not at all running it on it's own circuit. Runs without issues and have grown to love EVGA for their great customer support and great products. 10 year warranty is second to none. Every cable modular including the motherboard cable is a plus since my last PSU was partial modular with MB and VGA cables hard wired. Comes with an insane amount of cables, now to find somewhere to store all the extras since I always seem to misplace them.

Cons: Holes didn't line up that good with my case. Listing this as a con for this product only because my last 2 PSU's didn't have this issue.

5 out of 5 eggsAn outstanding piece of hardware

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 220-T2-1600-X1 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: Solid performance, Quiet, and an absolute work horse. I could not be happier with this piece of art. I run an I7, 4.0, 2 x 970s, 16 Gig Ram, I 100 Cooler.

Cons: I really can not think of any cons. Although pricy, it is well worth it.

Other Thoughts: Never buy a power supply rated only slightly more that your machine is going to pull.

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 220-T2-1600-X1 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

Pros: And on the 6th day He created the ancestor of the engineer who created this power supply. And on the 7th day, He rested and said "some day they will create this power supply".

Seriously though, the advantage of this PSU is never having to buy another PSU for a decade (provided the ATX standards don't change). It should last at least that long, granted it doesn't get hit with any big power surges or rolling brownouts.

The reason behind that is simple: 80 Plus Titanium certification along with a huge overhead to allow for a lot of capacitor aging. This means the PSU was tested to run at 10% power (160W) at 90% efficiency or higher. So you should be able to run any gaming rig on this power supply, from the most demanding to the least, and it's still efficiently converting the power and generating very little heat in the process.

Cons: Price. You pay a premium for PSUs at the 1000W and higher rating. Worse, you pay for the 80 Plus Titanium certification. And with 125 amps of 12V on a single rail, you could probably cold solder wires, lol. That's a dangerous amperage, so if you're ever graced with a fat wallet, use this PSU with caution. And finally, this thing is a beast. At 8lbs it's the heaviest power supply I've ever seen, let alone held in my hands.

Other Thoughts: I doubt anyone here will really need 125amps of 12V for their gaming rig, so this exists to power systems using a lot of video cards for general purpose GPU computing (bitcoin, distributed computing, rendering systems, etc. that rely heavily upon floating-point calculations). And I'm sure a few enthusiasts, like myself, would love to roll this PSU into their next insane build, just because you can. ;-)

Pros: Quiet. Energy efficient. Some genius tried to run 2 high end cards. Bad idea.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Don`t be foolish and run 2 cards.
